🚨 Platform Updates You Need to Know

👀 Seeing less views on your Reels? It’s not you.

Instagram changed how “views” are counted.

Previously, someone skimming past a post preview on the Explore page or your profile counted as a "view".

Now, those preview impressions no longer count unless someone actually taps into the post.

👉 Why is this a good thing?

Even you're seeing lower View counts on your videos, your reach actually hasn't dropped.

Plus, your View count is now a stronger signal of real interest and actual watching behavior.

This makes View count a cleaner metric for teams and creators. Instead of panicking over lower numbers, you can now evaluate whether people are truly choosing to watch.

✅ What to do:

For sales reps, don't rely on raw views as your only success metric – instead, pay closer attention to saves, shares, replies, and profile actions.

For marketing leaders, this is a good time to reset expectations internally and remind teams that “lower views” doesn’t necessarily mean worse performance — it may just mean cleaner reporting.

🔁 Instagram updated account types + tool access

Instagram expanded creator tools so all public accounts now have access to foundational tools and insights.

But not all accounts are equal – and the differences matter depending on your follower count.

Professional accounts are still the best option for most business use cases, but personal accounts with 1,000+ followers can now access more features and analytics than before.

  • If you’re under ~200 followers (for any account type): You’re still in the limited testing phase, which means you can't access features like Trial Reels, channels, or going live.

  • If you’re between ~200–1,000 followers: This is where having a professional account is more beneficial because it gives you access to Trial Reels.

  • If you’re 1K+ followers (personal OR professional): This is where you unlock full access to features like Channels, IG Live, and monetization or ad tools.

👉 What this means for you:

If you’re an individual creator and you haven't switched over to a professional account yet, now's the time to do so.

It won't change any of your public-facing content, but it will allow you to start experimenting with more features and insights even if you haven’t grown to 1K+ followers yet.

If you’re a team leader, this means more reps can now access useful features – so it's worth encouraging your team to make sure their accounts are set to Professional.

⚠️ Instagram profile grid customization updates

Users can now edit profile grid thumbnails to customize how posts appear on their profile.

That means your grid is becoming even more important as a first impression and trust signal.

👉 Why this matters:

People often decide whether to follow, DM, or click based on how your profile looks in a matter of seconds.

Your profile is like your landing page — ask yourself: does your content actually make prospects want to click, watch, or reach out?

✅ What to do:

For individuals, make your thumbnails drive more clicks by adding keyword titles that make it clear what each video is about and why people should click to watch.

For marketing leaders, consider giving reps simple thumbnail templates so their profiles feel more polished without requiring design skill.

🔍 TikTok’s new Local Feed

TikTok’s new Local Feed surfaces content based on location, topic, and recency, which means content with local relevance now has even more discovery potential.

Content about local events, neighborhoods, businesses, and community insights is more likely to be shown to nearby audiences.

👉 Why this matters:

Local content is no longer just “nice to have” — it’s becoming a distribution advantage.

This is especially valuable for local businesses, real estate agents, lenders, and anyone whose business depends on geography and community trust.

If your content clearly signals where you are and who you serve, TikTok is more likely to show it to people in your area.

📌 Pro tip: Even if you serve multiple states or markets, your audience isn’t searching broadly – they’re searching locally. (No one is typing “home prices in 49 states”.)

They’re searching things like:
• “Average home price in Orange County”
• “Best neighborhoods in Dallas for families”
• “First-time buyer programs in Florida”

👉 Therefore, the more specific your content is, the easier it is for the platform to match it with the right audience.

What to do:

For individuals, start incorporating your location into your content:

• Say your city or market out loud in your videos
• Include geo-based keywords in captions (city, neighborhood, region)
• Talk about local events, trends, and real scenarios your audience is experiencing
• Start a recurring series that is specific to your area, like "Monthly market update for [CITY]" or "Top 5 family activities to do in [NEIGHBORHOOD]"

For marketing leaders, build systems that support hyper-local content at scale for your team:

• Create localized content prompts your team can easily customize
• Encourage reps to share market-specific insights instead of generic advice
• Shift away from broad brand messaging and toward content that feels specific and relevant to a local audience

⛳ The goal: Make your content feel like it was created for a specific community — not for anyone and everyone.

👉 Why this matters:
This is one of the easiest ways to turn attention into action in a way that feels personable but doesn't take hours of your time.

✅ This Month's Content Tips for Sales Reps, Marketers, and Teams

👀 Reels get most of their views early

According to Socialinsider, most Reel views happen in the first few days after posting.

  • Days 1–5 are the “golden window”1772022104831

  • Views taper between days 5–10

  • Decline more sharply after day 10

  • And plateau around day 20

📌 Takeaway: Early engagement matters enormously.

Likes, comments, and shares in the first 24–72 hours signal that your Reel is worth pushing to a larger audience.

🔎 What helps your reach on Instagram and Facebook

  • Higher video quality - minimum resolution of 720p, minimum frame rate of 30 frames per second

  • Using trending audio - the popularity of music or sounds determines how content is ranked and recommended to new audiences

  • Faster responses - Like or reply to comments within the first few days to generate more engagement

For sales reps, this means a little extra effort in the first 48 hours goes a long way.

For leaders, this is a strong case for encouraging internal engagement quickly after posts go live.

🚧 What hurts your reach

  • Posting content that goes against Meta’s Recommendation Guidelines

  • Content with watermarks

  • Copying or re-uploading other people’s Reels or posts

  • Creating Reels that are too long (over 3 minutes)

✅ What to do:

If you’re repurposing content, make sure to remove any watermarks and post native versions whenever possible.

And if your video needs more than three minutes, it’s probably better split into a series.

🗓️ How to Maximize Your Content’s Longevity

  • Use highly searchable keywords in your captions, thumbnail, and on-screen text

  • Choose a thumbnail that makes it clear what your video is about

  • Reference your posts in other content (Stories, emails, blogs, newsletters)

  • Pin high-performing posts to the top of your profile or add them to Highlights (watch a quick video tutorial here)

📌 Takeaway: The more places you reference and reuse your content, the longer it continues working for you.

📊 Where brands are seeing the most growth

If you’re trying to grow your audience...

• TikTok = discovery and reach
• Instagram = engagement and consistency
• Facebook = better for relationship-driven formats like Live

🤖 LinkedIn content is becoming searchable through AI

AI tools are increasingly pulling answers directly from LinkedIn posts and articles.

The content that gets surfaced most often is:

  • Client stories — “A client asked me this today…”

  • Expert insights — “Here’s what most people misunderstand about ___”

  • Real experiences — “What happened during a closing this week”

📌 Takeaway: This is about micro thought leadership — not motivational content. Clear, specific, experience-based posts are what get surfaced.

🔍 How to get your content found in AI search

  • Create content that is clear, structured, and easy to understand

  • Focus on topics your audience is actively searching for

  • Publish consistently on platforms like LinkedIn and YouTube

  • Build content on your own website (not just social platforms)

📌 Takeaway: The more specific and helpful your content is, the more likely it is to be surfaced – not just on social, but across search and AI tools as well.

1) People Make Mistakes

Playfully position yourself as the smart choice for clients — without putting down competitors or sounding arrogant.

How to replicate this trend:

  • Start walking toward the camera with relaxed confidence
  • Film at a listing, at your desk, or in front of a clean backgroun
  • Keep the movement smooth and natural

On screen text:

Not everyone will choose to work with a [your title] who [strategic action you take that protects the client]...and that’s fine.

People make mistakes.

Example ideas:

Not everyone will choose a [loan officer/agent] who runs the numbers three times to make sure you’re making the strongest offer…and that’s fine. People make mistakes.

2) Who Runs This Office?

🎯 Use this trend to show that you’re the go-to person in your niche — the one clients specifically ask for when they want the job done right.

How to film:

Film a confident “walk-in” clip like you’ve just been personally requested to solve a problem.

You can set your phone up or have a friend record you.

On-Screen Text:

POV: When a client specifically asks for you

When a client needs someone who ______ / calls me because ______

When I hear a [client type] ask for someone who can actually ______

💡 Examples (Real Estate / Mortgage):

POV: When a buyer wants someone who will be honest about what they can afford

When a client calls me to break down what the latest housing market news actually means for their plans

When I hear a homebuyer ask for someone who can actually get their offer accepted

3) Ask the Universe for a Sign

🎯 Use this trend to call out common hesitation buyers or sellers have — then present yourself as the “sign” they were looking for.

How to film:

  • Start with a clip of you looking up at the sky or reacting thoughtfully.
  • Then film a clip of the sky and add text to the sky.

On screen text:

  • “POV: You asked the universe for a sign…”

Example ideas:

  • …that you’re ready to buy a home
  • …that it’s finally time to stop renting and start building equity
  • …to list your home this spring
  • …to talk to me about making homeownership a reality

4) Two Moods of a…

🎯 Use this trend to show the emotional shift that happens when someone works with you — either by highlighting different parts of your job or the before/after emotions your clients experience.

How to film:

  • Film two short clips (10 seconds each) that use visuals to display a strong emotional shift
  • Add the text: “Two moods of a [person / situation]…”
    • Mood 1: [Common fear, stress, or uncertainty]
    • Mood 2: [Relief, clarity, or successful outcome]

Example idea:

  • Two moods of a first time homebuyer...
    • Mood 1: Feeling overwhelmed and not sure if they’re ready
    • Mood 2: Ready to start touring homes after talking with me to understand what they can actually afford

❓ FAQs: Social Media Strategy for Sales Reps & B2B Teams

Do lower Instagram views mean my content is performing worse?

No. Instagram changed how views are counted – your reach likely hasn’t dropped, just the measurement.

How many followers do I need to grow on Instagram?

Growth tools start unlocking around 200 followers and expand significantly at 1K+, but consistency matters more than follower count early on.

What type of content performs best right now?

Short-form video, especially content that is clear, specific, and answers real questions.

Should I focus on TikTok or Instagram?

Both – but for different reasons. TikTok is best for discovery, while Instagram is better for engagement and relationship-building.

How do I get more engagement on my posts?

Focus on early interaction: reply to comments, reshare content, and create posts people want to save or share.

What should I post on LinkedIn to get more visibility?

Post real experiences, client conversations, and clear insights – not generic advice.
